| Officers: President: Shirley McVicker, Vice President : Jim Stallings Secretary: Claire McLean 410-280-8850 Acting Treasurer Mallory Starr 202-337-6860 OUR MISSION Presidential Pet Museum Association is a nonprofit corporation whose mission it is to facilitate and provide support, raise funds, engage in supporting activities, encourage membership and in general work to create a National Pet Museum, and to see that the Presidential Pet Museum collection and concept is responsibly represented in a unique, riveting and monumental way. FROM THE SECRETARY / EDITOR Welcome to all the new Members / founders. The Association is growing and growing. Slowly at first, but we are picking up new enthusiastic supporters as we work towards the common goal of a National Pet Museum. For those who may not be familiar with the story, let me fill you in. The reason for this Association is because the Presidential Pet Museum is a great idea and a wonderful resource for so many people that it must find a place to BE! It has taken over five years of continuous development, work, sweat and allot of money to develop not only the Museum and its concept, but also the web sites. If you will visit our web sites, it will give you some idea of the scope of our project. My backyard is no place for a Presidential Pet Museum, and while it is an accumulation of a variety of paraphernalia including videos, posters, political collectibles, newspapers articles autographs, photographs, statues, books and fine art about Pets and Presidents, it can become a true Museum that engages, educates, entertains and embraces the visitor and examines the connection he has with Pets and Presidents. I tell all visitors to the Presidential Pet Museum, is not what we are, but it is what we can become. It has been my dream from the beginning to make the Pet Museum a permanent part of the American culture and the Presidential Scene. At First we tried to do it through a Portal to the Presidency, coupled with a traveling Presidential Museum, but as we researched, grew and learned, it became evident that the entire country loved the Pet Museum. After several forays into dead ends, the Association was formed only two years ago and within a short time, the interest in our project has ballooned. We need your continued help and support and active involvement so that we can all become a part of something much bigger than ourselves... a really fine tribute and first class attraction celebrating the bond between people and their pets |
