With over twenty years experience, Bill Helman has become one of the most accomplished and well-known advocates for the Siberian Husky, earning him the moniker of “WooFDriver.” He believes wholeheartedly that his dogs have impacted his life and worldview for the better.
As an urban musher and dog adventurer, Bill works tirelessly to educate people about not just dogs, but all animals. After establishing a track record of unparalleled achievement in animal advocacy by teaching and inspiring other animal lovers like himself, Bill has brought together tremendous talent and passion to establish a standard by which all other animal advocacy efforts may be measured.
Bill also holds a deep interest in history. Along with his extensive knowledge and unmatched devotion to the protection and promotion of all animals, Bill Helman is uniquely qualified to lead his next new wave of animal advocacy initiatives by becoming the new curator of The Presidential Pet Museum.
As the new curator, Bill’s goal is to acknowledge and honor the animals in our history who have made an impact, beginning with The First Pets, who no doubt, in ways large and small, influenced those presidential families living in our nation’s capital.
With his unrivaled and highly effective ability to develop knowledge into action, Bill’s first goal is to find an exhibition space for the museum’s holdings once again. Via this website, and eventually the physical museum, Bill and the staff of The Presidential Pet Museum wish to share this facet of American history with the wider public once again.
If you wish to make a donation towards the re-opening of the museum, please do so here.
Thank you for your interest in this unique aspect of American history.
