Like previous Presidents, Woodrow Wilson was a dog lover. One of his favorite childhood pets was Mountain Boy, a greyhound. In fact, among Wilson’s private papers was found an old childhood sketch he had made of Mountain Boy. This sketch can be seen today in the Woodrow Wilson House in Augusta, Georgia. Wilson was also known to doodle images of Mountain Boy in his school textbooks.
Some sources claim that Mountain Boy lived in the White House; but this is erroneous. Young “Tommy” Woodrow Wilson had him as a childhood pet.
