President Herbert Hoover, like many Presidents before and since, was a dog lover and had a plethora of dogs in the White House. One of these was the Scottish collie named Glen.
Bellhaven Behoover, or Glen, was given as a gift to Lou Hoover in November of 1928, from Florence B. Ilch, owner of Bellhaven Collie Kennels of Red Bank, N. J. At the time, Glen was only eight months old. While Glen did live with the Hoovers before the inauguration, he was not seen in Washington so it is unclear what happened to him.
